Samajwadi Party MP from Faizabad, Awadhesh Prasad on Thursday asserted that the SP would form the government in Uttar Pradesh in 2027 and launched a blistering attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alleging large-scale displacement in Ayodhya, seizing farmers’ land at throwaway prices and electoral malpractice .
Addressing a press conference at the Circuit House, Prasad accused the BJP of displacing locals in Ayodhya, seizing farmers’ land at throwaway prices, and manipulating land rates for profit. He said, “Farmers are suffering. Farmers’ land worth crores were taken without fair compensation. Even circle rates were not fixed in Ayodhya,” he alleged.

Promising relief if voted to power, the SP leader assured farmers that his party would guarantee just compensation and address agrarian distress. He criticized the Yogi Adityanath government for neglecting stray cattle issues, saying, “Stray bulls not only destroy crops but also claim lives. The condition of cow shelters is deplorable, and cows do not even get enough fodder.”
Awadhesh Prasad said, “The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) bought the land at a low price in the temple town.”
Prasad further pledged that the SP’s 2027 campaign would focus on unemployment, protection of the Constitution, reservation, a caste-based census, and farmers’ welfare.
Accusing the BJP of engaging in electoral malpractice, SP leader said, “We have been consistently fighting against vote theft. The BJP attempted it in 2024 too, but their plan failed. In 2027, the BJP will not even secure 50 seats. We will reform the Election Commission and bring it on the right track.”
He alleged, “farmers’ land worth crores was acquired by the BJP at throwaway prices and added that even circle rates were not fixed in Ayodhya.”
On the Lok Sabha results, Prasad claimed that the people of Uttar Pradesh had already given a “strong rebuke” to the ruling party.
Reiterating SP’s commitment to farmers and the Constitution, he asserted, “Our government will deliver justice and ensure that farmers are not exploited and receive fair compensation.”
